Application for Macao SAR Resident Identity Card ( BIR )

Certificate of Kinship


How to Apply

  • Applicable to Macao SAR Resident Identity Card (BIR) holders;
  • Photocopies of the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the applicant and the relatives are required ;
  • If applicant is under the age of 18, the application must be lodged by the parent or guardian at service counter in person.

Application at counter (applicants are required to obtain a number tag in advance. For the methods to obtain the tag number, please refer to “Methods to Obtain Tag Number and Appointment” of the website of the Identification Services Bureau(DSI).

Applicants can lodge the application at DSI counters in person or by a delegate. When lodging application by a delegate, it is required to submit an application form which is signed by the applicant according to the signature on the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident Identity Card, as well as the original Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the applicant and its photocopy. When lodging the application in Macao One Account, it is required to upload the image of the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the person(s) concerned.


Remarks/ Notes for Application

  • If the information about the relationship between the applicant and the applicant’s parents, children or spouse does not exist in the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident Identity Card record, they have to apply for kinship verification to DSI before lodging the application for the Certificate of Kinship through self-service kiosks or “Macao One Account”.Details of the kinship verification service can be found at www.dsi.gov.mo/QAndA_e.jsp#CH7.
  • The Electronic Certificate has an equivalent legal effect as the Printed Certificate.

Fees and Payment Methods

Fees:

MOP15.00 for the first page, and MOP5.00 for each additional page.

Payment Methods:

Application at counter

Headquarter (China Plaza), Macao Government Services Centre and Macao Government Services Centre in Islands: Cash, credit card, Union Pay “QuickPass”, debit card, Macau Pass and MPay are accepted for payment.

Processing Time

  • 5 working days (Performance Pledge)
    (The processing time is counted from the following day after this bureau receives the application and all required documents.)
  • Eligible person can lodge the application with the original Macao SAR Resident Identity Card of the applicant and the person(s) concerned at self-service kiosks.
  • Eligible persons who lodge the application using self-service kiosks or Macao One Account, they can collect the certificate according to the following schedule:

Collection Methods of service results:

Document Collection Counter Service

Target users: 

Applicants who lodged the application for identity document or certificate at service counters or self-service kiosks

Document Collection Procedures:

  • Scan or input your receipt barcode. (If the receipt barcode cannot be detected, please ask our staff for assistance.)
  • Be aware of your name and the corresponding counter number shown on the screen.
  • Collect your document or certificate at the designated counter.

Collect in person:

Verification of applicant’s identity is required at the time of document collection.  For identity card renewal or the former travel document has not expired, the former identity document must be brought along for cancellation.

Collect by an authorized person:

To authorize a representative to collect the document, the applicant has to fill out the authorization form on the receipt and sign the receipt according to the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card signature. Details of the procedure can be found at DSI’s Questions and Answers.
