South China Quarterly has been listed as an important source for scholarly citations in 2017
South China Quarterly, a journal founded by the University of Macau (UM) and edited by the Centre for Chinese History and Culture, has been listed as an important source for scholarly citations in 2017. This shows the journal’s increasing impact in the areas of humanities and social sciences.
The list was jointly published by the Renmin University of China’s centre for evaluation of academic studies in humanities and social sciences as well as publication and information centre. It was compiled based on journals’ full-text citation frequency in the academic community and evaluation data collected between 2014 and 2016. The list aims to provide more scientific and practical information on peer reviews. This year, 1,952 journals with citation records were evaluated. 745 of them have been listed as important sources for scholarly citations, accounting for 38.17 per cent of all journals.
In addition, South China Quarterly has been listed in the category of university journals and as an important source for scholarly citations in the discipline of philosophy. The quarterly journal puts great emphasis on interdisciplinary issues, covering topics on global issues, regional issues, as well as issues in China and abroad.
