Institute for Tourism Studies (IFT) and Macau Culinary Association (MCA) co-organised the 9th Macanese Cooking Competition and the 6th Young Macanese Cooking Competition for universities students on 17 May at IFT.

The Young Macanese Cooking Competition is an additional universities tournament. Macao universities students would have the opportunity to explore the culture and history of the local traditional Macanese Cuisine and the event allows culinary exchange between universities students in Macao, thus enables a closer tie among local universities.

The panel of judges for the young group was formed by Raimund Pichmaier, the Former President of the Macau Culinary Association, Florita Alves of Macanese Gastronomy Association, Desmond Hill, Culinary Director of The 13 and IFT lecturer Hugo Bandeira. While Yves Duron, Executive Chef of Grand Lapa Macau, Raymond Vong from Henri’s Galley, Richard Stuart, AVP of Culinary of Galaxy Macau and Axel Godefroid, Executive Chef of WYNN MACAU, were the judges of the professional group. The award ceremony was held in the evening after the cooking competition and judges presented the prizes to the winners.
