CE to visit Beijing for Beijing-Macao Cooperation Partnership


The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, is to lead a Government delegation to Beijing for the launch ceremony of the Beijing-Macao Cooperation Partnership 2018 and the signing of some cooperation agreements.

While in the capital from Sunday (27 May) to Tuesday (29 May), Mr Chui will also attend the opening ceremony of the 2018 China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services, and a summit session there on the topic of trade in services. Mr Chui will also meet with officials of the General Administration of Customs.

Beijing and Macao launched in October 2016 their Cooperation Partnership programme, with an aim of boosting ties in economic matters and trade, as well as people-to-people exchanges; thus creating fresh opportunities for mutual beneficial development.

Macao officials accompanying Mr Chui on the visit will include: the Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Leong Vai Tac; the Director-General of the Macao Customs Service, Mr Vong Iao Lek; the Chief-of-Office of the Chief Executive’s Office, Ms O Lam; the Director of the Government Information Bureau, Mr Chan Chi Ping; the Director of the Protocol, Public Relations and External Affairs Office, Ms Lei Ut Mui; the Director of the Labour Affairs Bureau, Mr Wong Chi Hong; the President of the Administrative Committee of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Mr Cheong Chou Weng; the Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, Ms Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes; the President of the Management Committee of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Mr José Tavares; the Director of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau, Mr Kou Peng Kuan; and the Director of the Sports Bureau, Mr Pun Weng Kun.

While Mr Chui is in the capital, the Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak, will take on the role of Acting Chief Executive.
