Entering its 10th Year, MFE Playing an Outstanding Role as a Platform for Franchise Brands Cooperation

MFE generates golden opportunities for businesses

The Macao Franchise Expo 2018 (2018MFE) will be held at the Venetian Macao from 27 to 29 July. The three-day expo will gather internationally renowned franchise brands and trade visitors to build an important platform for international exchange and co-operation. During the MFE, various activities will serve as a bridge to connect different enterprises and generate golden opportunities.

This year witnesses MFE's 10th edition since its debut in 2009. Nine years' development has nurtured MFE into a widely participated international chain and franchise exhibition, with the support of Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association, Macao Chain Stores and Franchise Association, Brazilian Franchising Association, Association of Chain and Franchise Promotion, Taiwan, Licensing & Franchising Association of Hong Kong and the local sector. MFE is also an ideal trading platform for franchise businesses with outstanding achievements. The MFE’s venue has been expanded from 1,900 square metres at its inception to 6,000 square metres in recent years. The number of exhibitors has increased from the 77 at the first edition to more than 150 last year, with many globally renowned franchise brands participating. In addition, the number of visitors has grown from 4,800 in the first edition to over 24,000 last year, among which over 5,600 were trade visitors. Over the past nine years, more than 150 contracts have been signed at the MFE, over 80% of which have been implemented.

With “Brand Expansion Continues, Business Opportunities to be Seized” as its theme, the MFE has consistently improved its supporting services to satisfy the needs of investors and enterprises for business expansion. The "Forum on Chain and Franchise Business Opportunities of International Brands" will be held on the first day of the MFE this year. On this occasion, professionals and business leaders will be invited to share their experience regarding chain, franchise and consumption opportunities, and have in-depth discussions about the future development of the industry.

One of the highlights of this year's MFE is that the event will be enriched by the "Smart Retail" with chain-business innovative factors like unmanned stores, unmanned coffee and juice huts. Meanwhile, a supporting zone with new franchise elements will be set up to provide IT support, e-commerce, business consultation, e-wallet and mobile payment.

As a platform dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and youth entrepreneurship, MFE designated its final day as the “Start-up Launchpad” Day. Successful businesspeople will be invited to share their startup experience with the audience and those who are interested in entrepreneurship or business expansion. This year’s MFE will even organise enterprisers to go on business mission to the retail markets in Macao and Zhuhai, allowing them to obtain market information and explore business opportunities there.

In addition, the 2018MFE will be held concurrently with the “Guangdong and Macao Branded Product Fair 2018” (2018GMBPF). The well-received "Gourmet Avenue" at last year’s MFE will continue to be staged at the 2018MFE and the 2018GMBPF, crossing both venues.

The 2018MFE offers free admissions. The event will be open to trade visitors on the first day (27 July) and to public from 28 to 29 July.
