2nd report of the MSAR on the implementation of the ICCPR

Summary

In accordance with the concluding observations of the United Nations Human Rights Committee in relation to the initial report of the Macao Special Administrative Region (“Macao SAR”) on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (“Covenant”) (CCPR/C/CHN-MAC/CO/1) (please refer to the following website for the document), the Macao SAR has to submit its second periodic report on the implementation of the Covenant at the beginning of this year, covering the period from January 2011 to June 2017.

The Government is currently drafting the aforementioned report. For the report to be more solid and comprehensive, the Government has prepared the outline of the report (please see consultation document), including the broad subject headings and individual topics. Members of the public are invited to submit their views or information on the implementation of the Covenant in respect of those topics and to suggest other topics that should be included in the report. The public consultation period runs from 13 January to 12 February 2018.
