Goal This course will develop teachers’ knowledge and understanding of common errors students make when speaking and writing English in secondary school English language learning. It will analyse where errors come from and how teachers can categorise and prioritise errors, and will introduce and expand teachers’ use of a range of methods to effectively help students’ overcome errors, and link these to specific teaching and learning aims (e.g. skills, fluency, accuracy). It will also introduce methods, activities and resources teachers can use in their classrooms to more effectively reduce and deal with students’ written and spoken English errors.
