Goal 1. Understand the diversity of life form and different animal groups; 2. Gain an overview of different key examples of communication systems and evolution; 3. Obtain fieldwork experience to observe different species’ behavior and communication in their habitat.
Message Session 1 - Overview of the different animal groups and evolutionary perspectives - Principles of animal communication - Case studies and discussion Session 2 - Introduction to simple lab experiments appropriate for teaching in classroom animal communication using aquatic animal models (fish and invertebrates) Session 3 - Field activities to observe and record bat species
