Goal This course will showcase useful teaching and learning strategies that can be adopted or adapted by teachers to make learning more meaningful in the classroom. Participants will engage in activities that are designed to keep learners active while engaged in the learning process. Throughout the course, participants will design their own learning activities to implement in their own classroom.
Message - Develop effective learning environments based on an understanding of student learning and effective instructional practices - Use a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways - Choose a variety of learning activities that will benefit all types of learners - Design learning activities that encourage student engagement in the learning process - Design activities that reflect various intelligences and preferred learning styles
