Everyone has in his/her heart a fierce and unique wild flower, whose tenacious vitality can break free from all kinds of shackles, stand out among the dull, and be graceful within constraints. Dutch choreographer Arthur Kuggeleyn, who has engaged in theatrical performances and is noted for his emotionally charged psychedelic style, created Wild Flower for the Shanghai-based Jin Xing Dance Theatre. In it, dancers interpret wild flower’s tenacious existence through marathon-esque non-stop dancing and movement, triggering off an explosion of long held emotions.

The Jin Xing Dance Theatre is one of the top modern dance companies in China and has long been committed to fusing traditional Chinese culture with Western dance styles. Given its outstanding ideas and artistic sense, the Dance Theatre has been acclaimed by critics as “an important unit in the history of Chinese dance”.
