Liu Chanjin, the chief of the brigands residing on Jiufeng Mountain, saves the down-and-out scholar Shen Wensu back to the mountain, and they get married. Shen soon discovers Liu’s real identity and stealthily leaves the mountain in fear of being implicated in the brigands’ activities. Later, Shen takes the imperial examination and earns the title of top scholar. Liu learns about this and looks for her husband, only to have their marriage denied by him. At last, Shen cleans his act up, and becomes reconciled with his wife.

Students from the Cantonese Opera Course at the School of Theatre ofMacao Conservatory will step on the stage, and audience can see their devotion to pass on the culture of Cantonese opera.
