Together with the Macao Chinese Orchestra, national first-class conductor Liu Ju will join hands with two artists on Chinese and Western instruments to bring the audience a wonderful auditory feast. Liu Ju, born into a family of artists, has extensively explored the fields of symphony, opera, ballet and Chinese orchestral music, while internationally renowned violinist Xie Nan, best known both in China and abroad for her performance of Violin Concerto The Butterfly Lovers, has gained great acclaim, and young guzheng virtuoso Su Chang has been the authorative interpreter of Guzheng Concerto Ru Shi since she premiered the piece. In this concert they will present magnificent works, filling the audience's hearts with melodious music from East and West.

In addition, the Macao Chinese Orchestra will deliver The Sisters’ Islands, a masterpiece by young composer Wang Chenwei. The work, blending the unique timbre of Chinese instruments with sounds of gamelan - from Indonesian traditional music - as well as elements of Middle-eastern music and Malaysian dance music, exudes a strong Nanyang flavour. All in all, the concert promises an amazing, rich musical feast of diversity.

Duration: approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including one intermission.
