Performing Arts Gala will once again be staged at the Iao Hon Market Park, bringing a range of wonderful performances to adults and children across three consecutive nights. Jinjiang Hand Puppet Arts Protection and Inheritance Center will perform hand puppet shows, a traditional theatre performance in Jinjiang City of Fujian Province which has been inscribed on the National List of Representative Elements of Intangible Cultural Heritage of China. To spice up the atmosphere, a group of dancers in vintage clothing will perform swing dance, a type of dance originated in the United States in the 1920s and which emphasises improvisation, with jazz musicians.
Other performances include storytelling and dance to render the four solar terms that mark the beginning of the four seasons, aerial acrobatics and dance to bring a Guangdong fishermen’s adventure story to life, and Portuguese songs to take the audience on a cultural journey through Portuguese-speaking countries. The array of performances will definitely bring a joyful experience to adults and children alike!
