Workshop:
Ikebana refers to the art of combining flowers, leaves and branches into floral arrangements. Japan’s Ikebana was influenced by China’s Tang dynasty and is still practised today after thousands of years of integration and development with local Japanese culture. Ikebana, one of the traditional Japanese cultures and handicrafts, derived from Ikenobō. This workshop will guide participants in understanding the culture and history of traditional Japanese Ikenobō by engaging in Jiyūka, the freestyle of Ikenobō, which will inspire them to experience the beauty of nature and the pleasure of floral arrangement.
Instructor:
Macau Academy of Flower Arrangement Designer president Cindy Chao has been engaged in floral art for many years. She is a qualified instructor of Ikebana (1st Grade), a certified floral designer by the American Institute of Floral Designers and a qualified teacher of Sogetsu Ikebana. She has won numerous floral art awards in Japan, has exhibited her artworks in more than 20 regions and countries and is actively engaged in teaching and demonstration.
