#Dance #Voice-over Narration

“I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.” – Henry David Thoreau

The concept of this performance was inspired by Excursions, written by Henry David Thoreau. When looking back over the past three years, we truly understand the importance of urban green spaces and realise we have regained a great deal of positivity from nature. These ideas have driven the creative process of Travelling at Your Doorstep.

Guided by narrating voices, the audience will stroll around Flora Park, following the dancers’ steps to revisit the nameless big tree, and the memories of an “old friend” we have not seen for a long time. Through Thoreau’s eyes, let us all try to embark on a mind “excursion” on this familiar, small piece of land.
