In this 30-minute talk, the speaker will give an in-depth introduction to Macbettu, a concise yet powerful all-male production of Shakespeare’s classic by the Sardinia Theatre. Introducing the aesthetics and the strategy used to reinvent the play, he will guide the audience into the performance’s key points, inspiring further understanding and reflection.

Speaker: Chung Siu Hei
Chung is a Hong Kong-based director and dramaturge with a Master’s degree in Dramaturgy from the Zurich University of the Arts. With friends, he founded the theatre company Poor Guy Diary and the art troupe WOW from Home in 2016 and 2020 respectively, and is currently a part-time lecturer at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and a member of the Table to-gather collective curated by On & On Theatre Workshop.

The deadline for registration is 22 May. In case of oversubscription, selection will be made by drawing lots.
