Have you heard of the Paiwan ancient ballads? Besides being a type of tune, they are a historic, cultural treasure held by this Taiwanese indigenous people. Basic musical knowledge is not required for this workshop, where instructors will lead participants to experience the oral heritage, the sound of life of the Paiwan.

Instructor:Gan Shengzhu
Of Atayal and Rukai descent, Gan is currently an instructor and audio engineer of the teenage a cappella group Paiwan-pella. The head of the LantianMusic and SURE Singers won the 24th Golden Melody Awards for Traditional Arts and Music. He has engaged in professional music making and teaching since 2010, including a cappella, instrumental performance, composition, arrangement, recording and audio mixing.

Instructor:Bobo Loi
Loi is the leader of the Macao a cappella ensemble Water Singers and an instructor of Paiwan-pella. She graduated from the Graduate Institute of Collaborative Piano at the Tainan University of the Arts and the bachelor programme in piano at the Macao Polytechnic Institute. Having performed in more than 100 musicals, theatrical plays and community art productions Loi toured Japan and mainland China.
