From July to August this year, 20 outstanding young students from Macao were selected to participate in the ‘Hong Kong-Macao Youth Internship Programme at Palace Museum 2024’ and carried out a 6-week internship in several departments of the world-renowned Palace Museum, namely in the Department of Promotion and Education, Department of Cultural and Creative Affairs, Department of World Heritage Monitoring, Department of Ancient Architecture, Department of Archaeology, Department of Palace History, Division of International Exchange and Research Office. The experience proved very beneficial for the interns, who will now share their impressions by discussing various cultural topics related to the Palace Museum. The public is also welcome to interact with the interns and learn more about their unforgettable work experience at the prestigious museum.

This internship programme is jointly organised by the Palace Museum, the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government. Through internships and visits to the Palace Museum, as well as cultural experiences in Beijing and Inner Mongolia, the programme aims to deepen Hong Kong and Macao youth’s knowledge regarding the protection of cultural heritage and to reinforce their sense of national belonging, as well as to promote exchange and cooperation amongst themselves.
