The exhibition, titled “Memories, Legacies, Mutations”, aims to bring together artists from China and the Portuguese-speaking countries to present outstanding contemporary visual artworks to visitors.
Memories leave traces in the encoding of cultural legacies and create mutations in an ever-changing world. Through their own unique perspectives and creations, the artists transform individual and collective cultural impressions into thought-provoking works of art, suggesting an East-West fusion or even an amalgamation of East, West and Global South, thus creating new artistic contexts that inspire viewers to reflect on the continuity and diversity of cultures.
Divided into three sections, this exhibition attempts to connect through time, featuring artists from different countries and regions, including China, Macau, Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste, presenting contemporary artworks and street art in a variety of media, including painting, interactive video and multimedia, and installations.
