Content:The session focuses on the reading and exploration of the book The Skein of Emotions. Using active, participatory dynamics and collective reflection, the author will explore the potential of the book in a practical way. This workshop invites participants to dive into the world of emotions, untangling threads and discovering ways to tap into “The Skein of Emotions” to help our children develop their Emotional Intelligence.

Content:The instructor will use various children’s story picture books to design a series of interactive mini-games with the story-based approach. The engaging content will allow both parents and children to immerse themselves in the stories, stimulate children’s imaginations, and encourage parents and children to develop a shared reading habit, helping them to acquire the techniques of spending time together. At the end of the workshop, parents and children, as hairdressers, will engage in a craft activity, using knitting yarn and materials to create beautiful hairstyles for different animals.

2.Picture Book Wonder and Building Block Workshop

At the end of the workshop, parents and children will engage in a craft activity, using building blocks and puzzle boards to make picture book-related artworks, and transferring the patterns on paper.

1. "The Treasures of Ilha Verde Hill 2"

Content:One Macao primary school student Hoi Pong made friend with fairies since he had gotten lost by chance in the fairy boundary of Qingzhou Mountain. One day, Hoi received a call for help from a Macao Ant Fairy, A Sai. The story was that the ancient Lung Ngaa Tree old lady in the Nossa Senhora Village of Ká Hó in Coloane had been troubled by nightmares due to anxieties. The Insect Fairy, Lung Ngaan Gwan, was very worried and thus traveled from afar to the Qingzhou Mountain, in order to seek help from the fairies, the unique species in Macao. To bring back the smile of the Lung Ngaa Tree old lady, Hoi, in the company of the Macao Ant Fairy A Sai, the Macao Meristolohmannia Mite Fairy A Lok, and the Macao Qingzhou Mountain Galumnidae Mite Fairy Sek Sek, followed the guidance of the Lung Ngaa Chicken Fairy, Lung Ngaan Gwan, to go to the Nossa Senhora Village of Ká Hó in Coloane. They embarked on an interesting and fantastic journey...

2. "The boy who never saw the sea" – Bilingual session "Chinese and Portuguese"

Content:This work, by António Correia, tells us a story of a boy who cherished the dream of seeing the sea. The boy travels by his grandfather’s hand, former sailor, and both travel over the seas aboard the boat of love and affection. One day, a nice water droplet started talking with the little boy and when it’s her time to leave she makes the promise to give him news concerning that unknown and fascinating sea. This boy doesn’t have a name so it can be any of us who cherishes a dream and harbours in his/her soul the kindness to love, listen and help the other without never giving up his/her dreams.

◆ Each group of attendees who completes the activity will receive a picture book as a gift from the organizer.
◆ In case of inclement weather conditions, the venue will be changed to the auditorium of the Macao Museum of Art. Please check the Cultural Affairs Bureau’s website and the respective page on Facebook for the latest updates.
