Laughter meets satire as Patuá theatre returns to the stage! This uniquely Macanese tradition has long been celebrated for its witty humour and sharp social critique, consistently delivering laugh-out-loud performances. Created by the Macanese community, Patuá theatre is a unique performing art, enlisted on the Intangible Cultural Heritage of China back in 2021. Patuá is a creole language rooted in ancient Portuguese, enriched with influences from Malay, Cantonese, English, and Spanish. It vividly embodies Macao's cosmopolitan character, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of diverse cultures where East meets West.
