(The participants of Phase 1, who wish to enhance their English language skills through an immersion experience and to gain insights into creative and innovative English language teaching methodologies and teaching techniques, may submit applications for Phase 2 after completing Phase 1.) |
Message | The workshops are practical, relevant and fun, and the participating teachers will: • engage in and learn how to use a range of fun, motivating classroom activities suitable for use with primary and/or secondary students in Macau schools • develop their own English language skills Workshop 1: Using Drama Activities for Motivating Students Is this session, workshop participants will explore a series of drama activities that can engage and motivate the learners, help with communicating and exploring ideas as well as being enjoyable and help learners to create meaning. The drama activities are all simple and require very little preparation time. Participants will do some drama activities in the workshop and will evaluate and discuss other activities. Workshop 2: Making Language (Grammar & Vocabulary) Practice Meaningful In real life we use language as a tool for meaningful communication however language practice in the classroom can often lack meaning and not relate to the students’ real lives. This workshop looks at ways of making language (grammar & vocabulary) practice more personalized and meaningful for primary or secondary learners. |
