The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, has conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Macao athlete Mr Huang Junhua for the gold medal he won at the 18th Asian Games, taking place in Indonesia.
Mr Chui expressed his congratulations publicly in a letter sent today on behalf of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) to the Macao delegation at the Asian Games.
The Chief Executive noted his excitement at the news of Mr Huang winning Macao’s first gold medal of this edition of the Asian Games, in the Men's Nanquan and Nangun All-Round contest in the Wushu section of the event.
Mr Chui also extended congratulations to the whole of Macao’s Wushu team and all the athletes representing Macao and striving for excellence at the Asian Games in Indonesia.
Mr Huang’s achievement at the Asian Games was a result of years of hardship and persistence. His victory would surely bolster the spirit of ambition among the rest of the Macao delegation and help in their individual pursuit of excellence during the Asian Games. Members of the Macao public would surely be proud that such an honour had been won on behalf of Macao.
The Chief Executive added that he hoped the Macao delegation – in pursuing glory on behalf of Macao at the Asian Games in Indonesia – would not only strive for peak performance but also promote sportsmanship.
