The Secretary for Security, Mr Wong Sio Chak, chairs a meeting at the Civil Protection Operations Centre to discuss arrangements in response to the approaching typhoons. During the meeting, the Secretary has received a report on the tracks and moving directions of typhoons “Barijat” and “Mangkhut” and the measures would be in place to mitigate impacts of the storms. Mr Wong has remained “Mangkhut” would be a powerful typhoon, adding all members of the civil protection system should take appropriate measures – including those for flood prevention – ahead of the storm’s arrival, in order to maintain the safety of the public.
