The art group explains the idea behind the performance
The Portuguese art group Andante recently gave a performance at the University of Macau (UM). The event was hosted by the Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Teaching and Training Center of UM’s Department of Portuguese, with support from Casa de Portugal in Macao.
Held in the Black Box Theatre of UM’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the event attracted UM faculty members and students, as well students from the Academy of Public Security Forces of Macau. The performance, named ‘Aleatório’, presented randomly combined Portuguese poems through a combination of sounds, lights, and images.
After the performance, the audience exchanged ideas with the artists. They were impressed with the creative approach to poetry. Some students said that the performance allowed them to appreciate poetry in a different way and praised the artists for their selection of the music and poems.
