ARTwarming Winter at CCM Cosy performances for the whole family

The Macao Cultural Centre, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, is launching its first “ARTwarming Winter”, a string of performances scheduled for December. Specially designed to bring families closer to the performing arts at the beginning of the cold season, this series will enchant and entertain a vast audience with music and theatrical productions.

20.12.2018 ——Annual Concert by CCM Children’s Choir

CCM’s young voices will step on stage for another Children’s Choir Annual Concert, celebrating the end of yet another great cycle with an array of lively tunes. Bringing the theme of “Dreams” to the forefront, the show features meaningful songs performed in different styles, and plenty of surprises to the audience. From Christmas classics to popular songs, the choristers will adorn some of the music sets with drama and choreographic moves conceived to let both kids and grownups enjoy a cheerful afternoon. Complementing all the singing and movement, the young singers will create various pictures based on the concert theme, to be shared with families and friends.

22-24.12.2018——Narrow (Belgium)

Staged by theatre Laika, Narrow is a physical theatre play without words taking kids six years old and above through moments that couldn’t get much closer and personal. The action revolves around a hilarious couple’s quest for domestic bliss that will turn slightly bitterer than it would be expected. Sharing a miniscule house, the two protagonists contort their lanky frames to fit the flat’s interior. As flowers are exchanged, chocolates are shared and embraces become unavoidable, they seem to be made for each other. But life isn’t always as straightforward as it might seem.

Narrow was developed by a group of artists from a diversity of backgrounds, mastering different disciplines, to take children and teenagers into a world of surprises where nothing can be taken for granted. In parallel to the show, theatre Laika will host two mime workshops for families and kids that will demonstrate the little ones and their parents how to use their body language through interactive games.

28-30.12.2018——Loo (Spain)

Spanish troupe Ponten Pie is bringing Loo, a children’s theatre play that will take the audience on an adventurous journey, carried by a mysterious force coming from exotic lands. Originating from the plains of India and Pakistan, Loo is a hot and powerful wind that pushes dunes, drying up wet lands and seas on its path to originate deserts. Specially created for boys and girls between two and five years old, this sensorial experience without words will enchant the audience sitting very close to the action. Following a successful path in venues and festivals across Europe, Loo visits Macao to let the little ones explore the exciting mysteries under the sands.

Tickets for all “ARTwarming Winter” programmes will be available from October 21 (Sunday) at CCM’s box office and Macao Ticketing Network outlets available at various discounts. For details please visit CCM’s website at www.ccm.gov.mo or call (853) 2840 0555.
