IC organizes a delegation to participate in the 11th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair

The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) of the Macao SAR Government, in collaboration with the Association of Advertising Agents of Macau, organized a delegation of 15 Macao cultural and creative entities to participate in the 11th Cross-strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair (hereunder referred to as “CCCIF”) on 2nd November, at Xiamen, Fujian province. The Macao Creative Pavilion has been set up for showcasing Macao’s cultural and creative products and services, in a bid to expand the promotion channels for Macao’s cultural and creative industries, and promote the growth in regional cooperation between Fujian and Macao in the cultural and creative fields. The event is one of the major projects of Fujian-Macao cooperation in 2018.

The 11th CCCIF took place at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center (XICEC) from 2nd to 5th November, lasting for four days. The opening ceremony of the Macao Creative Pavilion was held on 2nd November, at 3 pm, and it was officiated by the Vice President of IC, IeongChi Kin; Deputy Director-General of the Culture, Radio and TV, Press and Publication Bureau of the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government, Fu Guo Qiang; Director of the Association of Advertising Agents of Macau, Lo Tak Chong; and representatives of the exhibitors including Chief Operating Officer of the Fortes Solo Workshop Ltd., Fortes Pakeong Sequeira; the CEO of the Ana Chiang Group Ltd., Cheang Ka Hang; the Vice President of the Chessman Entertainment Production Co. Ltd., Alexander Carvalho Lou; and Manager of the Department of Public Relations & Artist of the Pride Entertainment Productions Co. Ltd., Elsa Ieong.

Ieong Chi Kin, Vice President of IC said that Macao and Fujian enjoy a long history of exchanges and cooperation, as well people-to-people bond; that cooperation in various fields is frequent, mutually beneficial and complementary, especially in the cooperation and development of cultural and creative industries. He pointed out that the development achievements of Fujian’s cultural industry are apparent to all, with the province having launched a number of policies to promote the integration, innovation, transformation and upgrading of the cultural industry, which Macao cultural and creative practitioners could learn from. He also said that through a collective showcase at the Macao Creative Pavilion, IC hopes to promote the city’s cultural and creative products and services to the Xiamen region of Fujian, expand publicity channels for Macao’s cultural and creative industries, and enhance cooperation and development of the cultural and creative industries between Fujian and Macao.

The Macao Creative Pavilion, under the theme “Macao Creativity”, located in the Provincial, Municipal and Cultural Famous and Top Enterprises Exhibition Areas at CCCIF, features 15 Macao cultural and creative entities selected by IC to participate in the event, and organized in four categories, namely, “Cultural and Creative Products Companies”, “Cultural and Creative Services Company”, “Cultural and Creative Projects Developer” and “Cartoon Character Franchised Exhibition Companies”. Participated Macao exhibitors to the Fair include: Fortes Solo Workshop Ltd., JE Handcrafts Co., Ltd., ZZZ TATTOO, 8 Bit Blocks Studio Ltd., Jpec Timber & Production Co. Ltd., San Seng Fung, Companhia de O-Moon, Ltd., Miracle Entertainment & Production, Chessman Entertainment & Production Co. Ltd., Seer Entertainment Production Ltd., Pride Entertainment Productions Co. Ltd., Ana Chiang Group Ltd., Fun Lok Cake, Fábrica de Medicina Chinesa Cheong Kun, and MACEXPO Exhibition Co. Ltd., etc. During the fair, the exhibitors met with cultural and creative entities from Xiamen and shared the experience in developing the cultural and creative industries, in order to explore the possibilities for future cooperation.
