The entrance examination for the University of Macau (UM) bachelor’s degree programmes for the 2019/2020 academic year is now open for applications. Those who are interested should apply at the UM Registry’s website. The deadline for applications is 18 January.
UM has been ranked among the top 400 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019 and No 443 in QS World University Rankings. It is the only higher education institution in Macao that has entered these rankings. In the 2019/2020 academic year, UM will offer 34 bachelor’s degree programmes in various fields, including humanities and language, business administration, education, health sciences, law, social sciences, as well as science and technology. Five of them are new programmes, namely Bachelor of Science in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Bachelor of Education in Integrated Science, Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Statistics and Data Science), and Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Chemistry. The programmes are now in the process of registration and will be launched officially after they are published in the Official Gazette of the Macao SAR.
In addition, according to UM’s latest Further Studies and Placement Survey, the employment and further studies rate among graduates with a bachelor’s degree in the 2017/2018 academic year exceeded 90 per cent. Among those who found employment, many did so before graduation. Some graduates were accepted by renowned graduate schools, including those at Columbia University, New York University, and The John Hopkins University in the United States; McGill University in Canada; the University of Melbourne in Australia; and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
