AACM approves 198 extra and charter flights to meet Chinese New Year’s demand

The Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR has approved a total of 198 extra and charter flights to allow airlines to increase their capacity to meet the air transport demand for the 2019 Chinese New Year.

To allow airlines to increase their capacity to meet the demand for air transport for the 2019 Chinese Year Year, the Civil Aviation Authority of Macao SAR (AACM) has approved a total of 198 extra and charter flights to and from mainland China, Taiwan China, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.

The extra and charter flights have already been operated commencing 21 January 2019 and will end on 28 February 2018. The operators of these flights are Air Macau, Juneyao Airlines, China Eastern Airlines and East Asia Airlines. The flights are destined to the following points:

  • Mainland China (151 flights): Shanghai, Wanzhou, Chengdu, Changzhou, Zhengzhou and Shenzhen (helicopter services)
  • Taiwan China (25 flights): Taipei
  • Vietnam (10 flights): Danang
  • Thailand (8 flights): Bangkok
  • Japan (4 flights): Osaka and Sapporo

The number of flights for the 2019 Chinese New Year has increased by 150% compared with the number in 2018 in which AACM received and approved a total of 80 extra and charter flights.
