The Maritime Museum, which was temporarily closed to the public due to the impact of a typhoon earlier, will reopen on December 29 of this year.
Exhibition hall reopens after urgent repairs
After the strike of Typhoon Hato in this August, the facilities and exhibits of the Maritime Museum were seriously damaged. Having been through a series of urgent repair works, the Museum is now ready to reopen. Most of the exhibition areas will be open as usual while a small part of the exhibits will take some time to be updated. The elevator and the esplanade will remain temporarily closed as still under repair.
Opening hours and admission fees unchanged
Some of the souvenirs in the Maritime Museum were slightly affected, however, they are still in good condition and will be sold at a special price. Visitors are welcome to take a look. The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is closed on Tuesdays.
Admission for holders of Macao identity cards is free. Non-holders aged between 10 and 17 (MOP 5 for Monday to Friday, MOP 3 for Sunday), aged between 18 and 64 (MOP 10 for Monday to Saturday, MOP 5 for Sunday) are required to purchase tickets whereas admission for persons aged 10 or below, or aged 65 or above is free.
