MGTO holds a prize-giving ceremony today for the Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest and Trophy Design Contest of Macao International Fireworks Display Contest

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held a prize-giving ceremony today (3rd July) for the Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest and Trophy Design Contest of the 28th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest.

The prize-giving ceremony was held at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre. Head of Communication and External Relations Department of MGTO, Kathy Iong, Head of Tourism Product and Events Department of MGTO, Jennifer Si Tou, Head of Business Tourism and Events Division of MGTO, Nicole Tong, Head of Department of Civic Affairs and Consultation of Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Patsy Ko Pui San, Director of School of Arts of Macao Polytechnic Institute, Hsu Hsiu-Chu, Head of Division of Educational Equipment of Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Wong Chio In, Head of Division of Visual Art of Cultural Affairs Bureau, U Weng Hong, Head of Maritime Services Division of Marine and Water Bureau, Lao Weng Yu, as well as media representatives and personages representing local circles of photographers, designers and advertising agencies awarded a total of 89 prizes for the Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest and Trophy Design Contest of the 28th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest. Awardees or persons on their behalf received the prizes at the ceremony. They also exchanged ideas that inspired their creativity and a lively vibe filled the occasion.

In the Photo Contest of the 28th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest, the first prizes in Group 1 (Age: 24 or under) and Group 2 (Age: 25 or above) went to Leong Ka I and Chan Kun Fai respectively. In the Student Drawing Contest, Sam Hoi Kin received the first prize in Group 1 (Age: 6 to 10) while the first prizes in Group 2 (Age: 11 to 14) and Group 3 (Age: 15 to 18) went to Chong Leong Hang and Cheang Chi Ian respectively. The first-prize winner of the Trophy Design Contest is Ng Lei Lai Ha.

The list of awardees is posted on MGTO’s website. The awarded works are exhibited at the LG level of the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Centre starting from today (3rd July) until 9th July. Residents and visitors are welcome to appreciate the works.

Organized by MGTO, the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest is one of Macao’s spectacular annual events not to miss. Outstanding fireworks teams come from different parts of the globe to present an array of top-quality fireworks displays, attracting a great number of visiting and local spectators. To enhance residents’ level of enthusiasm towards the event with opportunities to express their talent and creativity, MGTO organizes the Photo Contest and Student Drawing Contest in conjunction with the fireworks contest for Macau residents every year, and has been organizing the annual Trophy Design Contest from 2012 onward as well. The awarded works of the Trophy Design Contest stand a chance of being adopted as the design of real trophies presented to the winning teams of the fireworks display contest in the following year.

The Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest and Trophy Design Contest of the 29th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest are now open for entries and welcome residents to join.
