2019MIECF Green Business Cooperation Day kicks off on Thursday

“Promoting ecological civilization” is an important part of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The “Green Forum”, one of the series of activities on the “Green Business Opportunity Cooperation Day” during the “2019 Macao International Environmental Cooperation Forum and Exhibition” (2019MIECF), will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, March 28 in the Sicily Room of the Venetian Macao. It will focus on the development of green energy and green finance in the Greater Bay Area and Portuguese-speaking countries.

The “Green Forum”, themed “New Opportunities in the Eco Bay Area - Creating Green Energy Cities”, includes keynote speeches and a panel discussion session. Director General of Environment at Secretary of State for the Environment, Ministry of Coordinating for Economic Affairs of Timor-Leste Mr. João Carlos Soares, Secretary for the Environment of the HKSAR Government Mr. Wong Kam-Sing, Deputy Director of the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission (GDDRC) cum Director of the Guangdong Energy Bureau Mr. Wu Daowen, Coordinator of the Office for the Development of the Energy Sector of the MSAR Government Mr. Hoi Chi Leong, and Deputy Inspector of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission Mr. Zhang Hong have been invited to share information on their local environmental protection policies and development trends.

Mr. António Trindade, the Founding President of the Macao Association of Environmental Protection Industry cum CEO of Macau’s CESL Asia Investments and Services Limited, will be the moderator of the panel discussion session. He and Li Mingliang, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd., Benjamin Yue, Principal Advisor to the Executive Committee of Companhia de Electricidade de Macau, Wu Liyang, Chairman of Guangdong Green Finances Investment Holding Group Limited, Denise Chen, Senior Vice-President and Chief Sustainability Officer of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, and Zhang Ruiyang, Assistant Director of CPDFund Investment Management Company, will be jointly discussing the cooperation in clean energy innovation, smart grids, technological innovation of electric power, application of technological achievements, and green finance, etc.

Professionals in industry and commerce sector, environmental industry, academia and other sectors are welcome to join.
