The “Macao International Museum Day Carnival 2019”, co-organised by Macao’s museums, will be held on 12 May (Sunday). In response to this year’s International Museum Day, the Macao Museum, under the auspices of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, will launch a series of educational and entertaining activities in May, including workshops and storytelling activities, in order to raise the public awareness to this date.
The Macao Museum will hold a series of activities dedicated to the theme “The Mobile Museum –Praia Grande x Cultural Hub” at Anim'Arte NAM VAN on 12 May, including two sessions of the workshop “Pedal Boat in Nam Van Lake, Clay, Music Box” at 2:45pm and 4:15pm, as well as the storytelling activity “The History and Evolution of the Streets in Praia Grande”from 3pm to 6pm, allowing participants to understand the impact of the streets of Praia Grande in the daily lives of residents through the times.
The Macao Museum will also hold a series of outreach activities, including the storytelling activity “The History and Evolution of the Mount Fortress Garden” to be held on 18 May (Saturday) at Mount Fortress Garden from 3pm to 6pm, and the “Workshop of Western Xia’s Tangut Calligraphy” to be held at the Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre at 3pm. At the calligraphy workshop, staff from the The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Museum will be invited to guide participants to imitate the calligraphy of Western Xia’s Tangut characters, thus familiarising them with the empire’s culture.
