To mark the 150th anniversary of Pessanha’s birth, Review of Culture, International Edition, includes a compilation of articles devoted to the Portuguese writer. It gathers talks presented during a celebration ceremony at the Geography Society of Lisbon (Sociedade de Geografia de Lisboa), as well as other works by dedicated scholars.
Camilo Pessanha, who lived in Macao from 1894 to 1926, remains one of the greatest exponents of Portuguese literature. Throughout the years, Review of Culture has paid particular attention to the poet, including in 1991, when RC launched a thematic issue (English edition, September1990-Februrary1991 Nº11/12) on Pessanha’s acclaimed work Clepsydra on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its publication.
