The Steering Committee of International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum was established on the first day of the 10th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF). The Committee will uphold the principle of “government as guidance, enterprises as mainstay and market as operating gear”. Without changing the operating mechanism and model, the Committee will offer guidance, support and services to the IIICF regarding the sustainable development, so as to ensure and pillar the organisation of the IIICF.
Guests attending the launch ceremony included Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Mr Chui Sai On, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR Mr Fu Ziying, Vice Minister of Commerce Mr Wang Bingnan, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR Ms Shen Beili, Secretary for Finance of the Macao SAR Mr Leong Vai Tac.
The Steering Committee of IIICF is jointly founded by the Ministry of Commerce and the Macao SAR Government as Steering Committee Chairs, with the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR as Special Endorser, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council as Steering Committee Members.
In his speech at the launch ceremony, Director-General of Department of Taiwan of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce Mr Sun Tong said that the Steering Committee of IIICF, jointly founded by the Ministry of Commerce and the Macao SAR Government, will be offering advice on sustainable development of the IIICF, deepening different work mechanisms, exploring possibilities of how the IIICF upgrades its form, enriching the IIICF with new organisation model and new measures. The Steering Committee aims at creating an international and multi-functional co-operation platform that can meet different needs of all participating parties, and crafting the IIICF into a symbolic, professional and international co-operation platform for the “Belt and Road” infrastructure development.
