With the support and guidance of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Mainland China-Macao Belt and Road Business and Professional Services Council was collaboratively established by the Macao Chamber of Commerce and the China International Contractors Association. A launch ceremony was held on the first day of the International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF). The Council is formed with the objective of supporting Macao enterprises in exerting their strengths and joining the country’s momentum in a pro-actively manner.
The Council is composed of committee chair, management and secretariat. The Macao Chamber of Commerce serves as the chair and the secretariat in Macao; The China State Construction Engineering Corporation serves as the chair and the China International Contractors Association serves as the secretariat on the mainland. The management of the Committee is formed by relevant associations of commerce, financial institutions and enterprises from the mainland and Macao.
In his speech at the launch ceremony of the “Mainland China-Macao Belt and Road Business and Professional Services Council”, President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce Mr Ma Iao Lai said that the Council aims at facilitating the participation of enterprises from the mainland and Macao in the “Belt and Road” development, and motivating enterprises from the mainland and Macao to take part in infrastructure co-operations and investments. The Council also helps Macao enterprises put their strengths in full play, nurtures Macao’s opening up, reinforces the ties and collaboration between Macao enterprises and their counterparts in “Belt and Road” countries and regions, and Mainland China, supports Macao in joining the country’s momentum and implementing policies relevant to the “Belt and Road”, enhances enterprises participation.
