IPIM Organises Local Young Entrepreneurs to Explore Co-operation Opportunities at “RISE 2019” in Hong Kong

The Macao SAR Government has been attaching great importance to the cultivation of young talents and the growth of innovation-driven business start-up, for which, constant endeavour has been put to launching optimised measures that help young entrepreneurs achieve their dreams. On 9 July, Executive Director of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) Mr. Sam Lei led a delegation composed of 17 members – representatives of the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre, the Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association and the E-Commerce Association of Macau – to join the RISE 2019 in Hong Kong, which provided an occasion for Macao young enterprisers and RISE participants at home and abroad to exchange insights and look for co-operation opportunities in terms of innovation-driven businesses.

RISE is an annual conference that features “technology” and “start-up” enterprises as its theme. It aims at demonstrating the strengths and potential of Asian start-ups and motivating exchange among elite entrepreneurs from different regions. The event was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from July 9 to 11, attracting over 600 start-up companies world-wide and more than 16,000 founders of leading enterprises, CEOs, venture capitalists, elite operators, investors from over 100 countries. More than 350 speakers were invited to multiple concurrent events, including founders, CEOs and senior management of world renowned technological companies.

At this year’s RISE, Macao delegation actively took part in a number of penal sessions, involving an array of areas such as technology, finance and innovation. The delegation also met with other participating enterprises and jointly explored co-operation opportunities. Some of the Macao delegates relayed positive results as the exchange and experience sharing activities allowed them to broaden their horizon for starting up businesses and exploring opportunities. In the meantime, by joining this event, the delegation became able to bring the latest information to Macao and share with their counterparts, so as to motivate the development of the industries.
