The tropical depression over the northern part of the South China Sea is intensifying. It moves northwestwards and towards the west coast of Guangdong and Hainan Island. The tropical depression will be closest to Macau on July 31st. It is expected that the tropical depression will pass by Macau around 300 km. The wind in Macau will intensify and reach strong wind level, wind force 6-7, and be gusty at times.

Under the combined effect of astronomical tide and outer circulation of the tropical depression, there will be floodings in Inner Harbour area between 6am and 11am on July 31st. The highest flooding level is expected to be about 0.7m. The public are advised to take precautions against strong winds and storm surge as well as to pay attention to the latest weather information before going out.
