CE Election result confirmed in Macao SAR Gazette


The verified result of the Fifth Chief Executive Election was today published in the Macao SAR Gazette. The Court of Final Appeal verified the result and confirmed Mr Ho Iat Seng as the elected candidate.

The Fifth Chief Executive Election of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) was held on 25 August. In view of the fact no judicial appeal against the election process was filed within the statutory period, the Court of the Final Appeal – in accordance with provisions of the Chief Executive Electoral Law – had verified the election result and the name of the elected candidate.

According to the general audit results of the Chief Executive Election, there was a total of 400 registered members of the Chief Executive Election Committee, and each of the 400 members of the Chief Executive Election Committee cast their respective vote on election day.

Mr Ho Iat Seng won the election with 392 votes, representing 98 percent of the total votes available. There were seven blank ballots and one invalid one.
