The Chief Executive, Mr Chui Sai On, will lead a Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) delegation to Shanghai for the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE).
The Chief Executive will attend on Monday (4 November) a welcoming dinner. On Tuesday (5 November), Mr Chui will attend the CIIE opening ceremony and the launch of the 2nd Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum.
CIIE, which is being staged from 5 to 10 November in Shanghai, is the world's first import-themed, national-level expo. Guests from some 170 countries and regions will take part in the event, including politicians, business people and representatives of international organisations.
The Macao SAR Government will have a Macao exhibition area – titled “Macao Hub” – within the China Pavilion of the Country Pavilion for Trade and Investment. The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Cultural Industry Fund have also made arrangements for a number of local industries to participate in the Enterprise and Business Exhibition at CIIE.
The Secretary for Economy and Finance, Mr Leong Vai Tac, and the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr Tam Chon Weng, will also attend the opening ceremony of CIIE on Tuesday. The two officials will additionally attend forum sessions held on Tuesday afternoon.
The Secretary-General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr Wang Xindong, will accompany the Macao SAR delegation as a guest.
Other delegation members are to include: the Chief-of-Office of the Chief Executive’s Office, Ms O Lam; the Director of the Government Information Bureau, Mr Chan Chi Ping; and the Director of the Protocol, Public Relations and External Affairs Office, Ms Lei Ut Mui.
During Mr Chui’s absence, the Secretary for Administration and Justice, Ms Chan Hoi Fan, will take the role of Acting Chief Executive.
