MGTO organizes a destination presentation seminar in Haikou, Hainan
Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) held a destination presentation seminar in Haikou, Hainan on 22November and participated in the “2019 Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival” and other activities together with industry delegates from Macao to update their counterparts in Hainan on Macao’s tourism trends and resources, deepening exchange and cooperation between the travel trade from Hainan and Macao.
MGTO Deputy Director Cheng Wai Tong, Head of Marketing Division of MGTO, Cora Vong, Chairman of Travel Industry Council of Macau, Andy Wu, President of Association of Macao Tourist Agents, Guan Dehui, and Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the Association of Macao Tourist Agents, Kenny Cheung, joined other delegates to attend the destination presentation seminar. Deputy Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, Wang Liming, and Deputy Chief of the International and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Marketing Division of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province, Fu Fenghua, were invited to join the seminar together with representatives of Hainan’s travel trade. MGTO delivered an overview of Macao’s tourism development to the attendees and presented the palette of travel experiences offered by the city. The Office aims to deepen cooperation and exchange between the travel trade from both sides, who seized this occasion to connect and share the latest tourism trends and products with each other.
In addition, the delegation of MGTO and Macao’s tourism industry representatives attended the inauguration ceremony of the Hainan World Leisure Tourism Expo and Hainan International Tourism Food Expo held at Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center, as well as the grand opening of the “2019 Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival” that ensued in the evening. Reaching the 20th edition, the Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival features over 200 spectacular activities this year, familiarizing MGTO and Macao’s industry delegates with the events and festivals in Hainan besides an opportunity to draw on the experience of the province in tourism product development.
Through the above seminar and tourism exchange with Hainan, MGTO seeks to build stronger ties with the Mainland and international travel trade, while promoting Macao’s vision to become a world centre of tourism and leisure and what the city has to offer among Mainland residents and industry operators from worldwide, drawing more visitors to Macao for a first-hand experience of the unique East-meets-West culture and the vibrant scene brought by local events.
