“Joint Admission Examination for Macao Four Higher Education Institutions” Is Postponed with Specific Arrangements to be Announced in Late February


In view of the social concerns about the “Joint Admission Examination for Macao Four Higher Education Institutions” (JAE), for better preparation of students, parents and schools, and for the safety of all candidates, the Higher Education Bureau, University of Macau, Macao Polytechnic Institute, Macao Institute for Tourism Studies and Macau University of Science and Technology have decided that the examination date for the JAE will be postponed, after carefully examined the situation. Specific arrangements will be announced in late February.

The spokesman of the JAE this year, the Vice President of the Macau University of Science and Technology Mr. Kwong Ying Wa stated that, as a significant approach for Macao students to pursue further study, the JAE can serve in wide ways in terms of further study. Taking this into account, the postponement plan must be made under comprehensive and thorough consideration, in order to ensure that the examination is organized, with fairness and justice. In addition, while the JAE is comparatively large-scale, the four institutions need some time to make better arrangement for epidemic prevention, especially in terms of evaluating venue space and arrangement, imposing entry and exit restrictions for candidates and staff, checking body temperature, as well as venue sanitation and ventilation.

The four institutions have reaffirmed that, for the best interests of all candidates, time needed for examination-related work will be minimized and the exam content will be reviewed. The four institutions will also make proper arrangements for the admissions, to reduce the impacts on students. Meanwhile, exam syllabus and past papers have been uploaded to the “JAE” webpage. Candidates can prepare for the examination according to personal learning situation.
