The University of Macau Opens Online Resources to Help Macao Students Studying in Taiwan Learn at Ease

In view of the recent suspension the entry of Hong Kong and Macao residents in the Taiwan region, thousands of Macao students studying in Taiwan are unable to continue their studies. The Higher Education Bureau is paying close attention to this matter and to the adequacy of online learning resources for the affected students. After consulting the University of Macao (UM), the Bureau has received full support from UM, which will shoulder social responsibility to provide online learning resources for the affected students to help them enhance their professional knowledge without leaving home, and to ensure that their studies will not be delayed.

Students study at home to ensure their learning progress

In order to help the affected students to study at home, the Bureau communicated with UM and received its active response and full support. UM has agreed to provide online learning resources for the affected students for free. Moreover, UM has set up a task force to follow up. Affected students who are interested in distance learning through the UM’s online platform can email to registry@um.edu.mo, specifying details of their studies, including majors, year of studies and courses of this semester, so that UM can provide online courses based on their studies. Students can also select courses and contact the faculty member directly.
