Opening of Kun Iam Treasury cancelled this year Cultural Affairs Bureau urges residents to stay at home and work together for epidemic prevention


As the prevention and control work of the novel coronavirus has reached the critical moment, in order to protect the health of the public and implement the preventive measures of the SAR Government such as avoid going out or assemble, local temples dedicated to Kun Iam cancelled the event, opening of Kun Iam Treasury, originally scheduled to be held at the night of 18 February and 19 February, hoping to reduce the risk of an outbreak of novel coronavirus in the community and to work together for epidemic prevention and ensure the health and safety of the public.

At that time, Pou Chai Temple (Kun Iam Tong) located at Avenida do Coronel Mesquita, A-Ma Temple (Barra Temple), Lin Fong Temple located at Avenida de Almirante Lacerda, Kun Iam Temple (Kun Iam Tchai) located at Avenida do Coronel Mesquita, Kun Iam Tong Temple located at Rua Direita Carlos Eugénio, Taipa, Kun Iam Temple located at Estrada Nordeste da Taipa, Kun Iam Temple located at Rua do Meio, Coloane and Kun Iam Temple located at the hill of the Ka Ho Village, Coloane, will not host festive events and ceremonies related to the opening of Kun Iam Treasury. The temples will also be closed at night.

The Cultural Affairs Bureau thanks all temples and residents for their support and cooperation, and urges the public to stay at home in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
