Starting 24th February, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) will open its temporary office at Tap Seac and its office on 13th floor of Edf. China Civil Plaza at NAPE, to handle services made by residents’ appointments. However, as it is still in an important period of epidemic prevention, it is recommended that residents should stay at home and handle their services by electronic means. The FSS also reminded that the deadline for payment of contributions for the fourth quarter of 2019, the employment fee for non-resident workers, and contributions of casual workers for December 2019 and January 2020 has been extended to 16th March.
From 24th February (Monday), the FSS will resume basic services provided at 13th floor of Edf. China Civil Plaza at NAPE, following the opening of its temporary office at Tap Seac earlier. However, the service points at Macao Government Services Centre and Macao Government Services Centre in Islands will still be temporarily closed. The FSS calls on residents to handle various social security services by electronic means as much as possible. If a person needs to visit the FSS office in person, he or she should make an appointment in advance through the mobile application of “Conta Única de Acesso Comum” or on the website (https://booking.gov.mo). The FSS also reminded that its temporary office at Tap Seac will provide various social security services, while its office on the 13th floor of Edf. China Civil Plaza at NAPE will only provide contribution-related services.
In addition, the FSS has already extended the deadline for payment of contributions for the fourth quarter of 2019, the employment fee for non-resident workers, and contributions of casual workers for December 2019 and January 2020 to 16th March (Monday), and any late payment interest and fines will be exempted. The provision of proof of life by beneficiaries of old-age and disability pension can be until the end of March, without affecting the normal payment of their benefits in April. The FSS also said that the period during which public servants were exempted from going to work (starting 30th January) and during the limited operations of the public sectors will not be included in the application period of various allowances. Members of the public can wait until public services are fully resumed before applying the relevant allowance.
