The Seac Pai Van Park, in Coloane, Macao, features the Garden of Medicinal Plants, the Ecological Trail Garden of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, and the South China Medicinal Plants Garden. Hundreds of medicinal plants common in Macao and in the South of China were planted in the gardens to protect and promote medicinal plant resources. Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau will issue the stamp theme “Regional Medicinal Plants II” on 20th April, 2020, this is the second issue of the same series after issued in 1983.
This issue includes a set of four stamps and one souvenir sheet, the stamps are illustrated the plants of Rose Myrtle (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa), Chinese Desmos (Desmos chinensis), Cape Jasmine (Gardenia jasminoides), and Ivy Tree (Schefflera heptaphylla), and the souvenir sheet is illustrated the plants of Chinese Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum indicum), Mexican Frangipani (Plumeria rubra ‘Acutifolia’), Honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) and Red Cotton Tree (Bombax ceiba). This eight kinds of medicinal plants are all either wild or commonly cultivated in Macao, so that the public is concerned about protecting medicinal plant resources and the natural environment, as well as promoting the sustainable development of medicinal plant resources.
The above issue will be available for sale at the General Post Office and the Communications Museum, from 9:00a.m. to 5:30p.m., and the “Rua do Campo” Post Office, from 9:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. The mail service for the relative philatelic products cancelled with the commemorative postmark will be available on the issue date at the above locations. The philatelic products are as follows:

The selling price for one set of four stamps is 17.00 patacas, the first day cover with stamps (FDC) is 23.00 patacas, the first day cover with souvenir sheet (FDC/SS) is 20.00 patacas, the information brochure with stamps is 24.00 patacas and the information brochure with souvenir sheet is 21.00 patacas.
The stamp designer of this issue is Mr. Lui Chak Keong, and the text of the information brochure is written by the Municipal Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
