In response to the SAR Government’s electronic service initiative, the Macao Public Library of the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC, from the Portuguese acronym) has launched the new mobile application “My Library”, which features several functions such as reserving and renewing library items, searching items in the library catalogue, and using the Electronic Library Card. By introducing more convenient measures, the Library seeks to encourage residents to use library resources and services, thereby promoting reading habits in the community.
By downloading the mobile application “My Library” and logging in to their library account, residents can access various library resources and services, including viewing the status of checkouts, the reserved, loaned and overdue items, fines and checkout history; searching books and audio-visual materials, as well as reserving and renewing library items online. Residents can also reserve or return books and audio-visual materials at the self check machines or reception counters using their Electronic Library Card available in the Application.
With the “Notification Settings” in the Application, users can receive “Return Deadline Reminder” and “Overdue Return Notice” for loaned books or audio-visual materials, and can also select “Event Notices” and “Library News” to receive the latest information on the Macao Public Library’s services and events.
The mobile application “My Library” also features functions for searching various types of library information and services, including library news, address and opening hours of branch libraries, service guide, event updates, library publications and “Recommended Reading” . All interested residents can search for and download “My Library” in the App Store or Google Play. For enquiries, please contact the Library through tel. no. 28930077 or 28567576 during office hours, or visit the Macao Public Library website at www.library.gov.mo.
