Announcement of the 38th Macao Young Musicians Competition Schedule

Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the 38th Macao Young Musicians Competition, dedicated to the category of Chinese and Western Instruments and Vocal Music, will start on 15 August this year. The provisional Competition Schedule is now available on the Macao Young Musicians Competition website (www.icm.gov.mo/cjmm).

The application period of the Competition ended on 21 April and more than 600 applications were received. The “Competition” will be held from 15 to 30 August, while the “Special Prizes Competition” will be held on 6 September at the Macao Museum of Art (Av. Xian Xing Hai, Macao) and the Healthy Life Education Center of the Social Welfare Bureau (G/F, The Bayview, No. 577 Rua Nova da Areia Preta, Macao). The order of performance will be determined through a random electronic ballot. All participants must register at the competition venue during the designated period by presenting the original copy of their valid Macao Resident Identity Cards and perform according to the allocated order. The warm-up room will be open to participants 45 minutes before the start of the Competition. In case of exceptional circumstances which require the order of performance to be changed, participants are required to complete and submit the “Request for Change of Competition Order” together with the supporting documents in person at the Cultural Affairs Bureau Building during office hours on or before 12 June. Any change of the order of performance is not valid without being approved by the Organizer.

In light of the epidemic, the Cultural Affairs Bureau will adjust the arrangement of the Competition and take corresponding anti-epidemic measures, including having the appropriate number of seats in each area of the competition venue and taking crowd control measures according to the actual situation. For enquiries, please contact IC through tel. no. 8399 6946 or 8399 6609 during office hours.
