Individuals that have been in Beijing to undergo 14-day medical observation

Starting from noon, individuals who have visited Beijing 14 days prior to their arrival in Macao, are required to undergo a 14-day period of medical observation in Macao.

In taking the step, consideration has been given to the fact Beijing has raised its public health emergency response to “level two” from “level three”. Level one represents “especially serious” in the four-level scale of the public health emergency response system.

The Macao health authorities have introduced the medical observation measure in line with Article 14 of Law No. 2/2004 – Law on the Prevention, Control and Treatment of Infectious Diseases.

The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has issued a reminder that any individuals contravening the measures may be subject to mandatory isolation in addition to corresponding criminal liabilities under the law.
