IFTM ranked top-5 in Asia for hospitality and leisure studies for fifth year in a row

IFTM has been placed in Asia’s top-5 for hospitality and leisure management studies for the fifth consecutive year, according to the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings. The result highlights the Institute’s position as a leading global provider of education in tourism.

IFTM has consistently been rated one of the top-5 higher education institutions in Asia for hospitality and leisure management studies by QS World University Rankings since the ratings service began covering this field in 2017. The Institute’s performance is even more impressive when considering that the number of Asian institutions ranked by QS World University Rankings in this subject field almost doubled between 2017 and 2021.

IFTM was ranked first in Macao and fourth in Asia among higher education institutions in hospitality and leisure management by the “QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021”. The Institute’s leadership in this field in Macao remained undisputed for a fifth year in a row.

The QS World University Rankings creates a list of the world’s top universities and institutes based on several criteria. The listing considers academic reputation, reputation among employers, research citations per academic paper, and a metric for measuring the productivity and impact of the work published by each institution’s team of scholars and researchers. The rankings by subject are a tool to help prospective students identify leading higher education institutions.

This year’s rankings by subject were released on 3 March, covering an aggregate of 51 academic subjects. A total of 1,440 higher education institutions across 85 locations around the world were included. Rankings can be viewed at www.topuniversities.com.
